Description
Fits 08-13 R1200GS/GSA and R12/ variations that have the red nozzle AND the “floating arm” fuel sensor at the fuel nozzle.
Also typically found on Adventure series. This variation is typical of the 1200 series after 2010. WFS stands for With Fuel Sensor
Filter does not have an upper flange, instead it fits over the filler tube inside your tank (disassembly required)
Filter neck diameter 37mm
Filter bag size 6×7″
Wire retainer ring holds filter onto the nozzle
The difference between this filter( and the M09006-NFS no fuel sensor), is that the top of this filter’s bag is intentionally left un-sewn. This is necessary so that the filter bag can slip up over the sensor unit. The un-sewn portion of the bag is ABOVE the fuel level, so filtration is not affected. The filter bag is held in place on the red nozzle by a wire retainer.
How do you know if you have the fuel sensor at the fuel pump? You’ll have to remove the nozzle from the tank and look at it. If the nozzle has no fixtures, fittings, or other pieces on it, you need a M09006-NFS. If your nozzle has fixtures, fittings, or other pieces on it, you need this M09006-WFS. Confused? We are too. Put some Mark 1 eyeballs on the fuel nozzle and you’ll know what we’re talking about.
If your bike has a metal filler funnel you want to order M06006.
Typically you’ll need to remove the fuel pump assembly to install this kit.
1. Remove cap assembly.
2. Pull up the nozzle assembly
3. Fit the filter over the end of the red tube
4. Secure the filter with the aluminum wire, hooking it through a vent hole
5. Roll up the filter, insert into tank with the red nozzle
6. Secure the cap
7. Spread the filter wings with the Installation Tool
The HDM3D media filters down to 10 Microns, which will allow a very good protection of the fuel pump and main filter. WATER and other contaminants (liquid and solid) will be separated during refueling.
Some models may have a plastic adapter, simply pull it our of the neck and insert the filter.
Expedition media, XXL+ 1200 square cm of filtering surface, simply mounting and fast refueling, washable and long lasting.
The original BMW fuel filter system has a strainer working between 40 and 60 microns, made from nylon mesh, which is totally inadequate to protect the fuel pump.
This filtration level will both preserve the fuel pump and prolong fuel original filter life, thereby avoiding nasty surprises and high repair costs.
Double-check your bike’s make, model, year, gas tank design, filler nozzle, etc. before ordering.
Take careful measurements of your filler nozzle and confirm for proper fitment. (see measurements of filter above).
If you order the wrong filter you’re responsible for any shipping fees needed to replace it with the proper filter, plus any price differences.
Filters that have been immersed in gas (or are not in like-new condition) are NOT eligible for return or refund.
